Peace offering to earth
collection 1
ECOSYSTEMS + HUMANITY
Positive growth.
Throughout transitional periods as humans, our minds and bodies are challenged. In moments unchanged by man, space, air, water, and earth is an art to be observed. Many (seemingly) insignificant and fleeting moments allow us to ask unanswerable questions. Moments to ponder the why’s and how’s of the creation, the curiosity becoming an artwork itself. Collection 1 is a reflective piece, one that, to me, acts as a reminder to be where my feet are.
Creators can capture and dissect so many parts of the world. With each step, our feet kiss the Earth. With so much destruction, Earth’s resilience prompts thought. We must let our feet kiss the Earth instead of wounding it.
This collection was captured during few a beach trip sessions with my older sister, Jaidyn, pictured in “Golden Soul.” Her soul thrives with salted air. On a day when connection was needed, we woke up, dressed in our crocheted tops and bikini bottoms, and made the journey to the Beach. The universe was sending lots of changes to both of our lives. This photo reminds me to reflect on the moments when the sand gnats may have been biting, but there was peace and beauty nevertheless.

Undoubtedly, the power of the ocean is magnificent. Driftwood reminds me of nature’s (and humanity’s) ability to create something from nothing. Cycles that never end, seeds become sprouts, become trees, become homes, become a testament of time and creation. The ability to reinvent, to travel, and to change is a beautiful lesson.
Thoughts
Sand, millions of fragments like the stars in our galaxy resemble the change and complexities of nature. The battering of waves against a shore, guiding grooves of change and community reminds us that it is okay to break, to be a fragment of what was once whole, and to know that the search does not need to be urgent. When our heads are barely above water, we can look at the tranquility around us and begin to swim.
